Contrast bills AI usage by the token, at a fixed retail rate per model. Every table on this page is generated from the live registries, so it always matches what Billing in your account settings reports and what your balance is actually charged.

#Per-token model rates

Rates are dollars per million tokens. Starter includes the efficient default route; Pro adds Smart routing across supported model bands.

Prompt cache reads bill at each model’s reduced cache-read rate and cache writes bill at each model’s cache-write rate, so long sessions cost less than the raw input rate suggests.

#Asset generation rates

Agents can generate custom assets for your app: bespoke images (logos, splash art, illustration, game art) and music or ambient tracks. Generation bills per unit, from the same usage pool as tokens.

Every generation is a ledger line item, so it shows up in Billing under its own Generated assets category. Expensive single generations require your explicit ok in chat before they run; cheap iterations run without the ceremony.

#Charged usage

Everything you are charged for while building draws from a single Build pool per account: agents and chat, generated assets, cloud builds, and previews.

Production hosting has a $10 monthly managed-platform base per live web project, and a custom domain is included with it. Run usage from published-app activity, data, files, and in-app AI is not charged while durable metering is built and calibrated.

#How your balance is drawn down

Spend is covered in a fixed order each period:

1. 1.
   Included allowance: up to $5 on Starter in your signup calendar month after email verification, without a card. Later Starter months require an eligible card and auto top-up. Contrast Pro and Peach Team include $10 each month.
2. 2.
   Account credit: on a free plan, any eligible credit after the included allowance. Starter’s signup-month credit is not an extra $5 on top of the first allowance.
3. 3.
   Prepaid balance: funds you add yourself, including an eligible Peach first top-up match.

When the included usage runs out you can add prepaid balance or set a hard monthly spending cap in Billing. Usage past the cap is refused rather than billed.

Contrast Pro is $10/mo or $100/yr, with the first month at $5, up to 10 members and cloud runs that continue unattended. Peach Team is $30/mo or $300/yr for companies under 50 people and under $10M yearly revenue. Yearly gives you two months free. Both products share one wallet and sell separate subscriptions.
